Three rounds for time:
21 Pull Ups
15 Push Press 60/40kg
9 Deadlift 100/70kg
400m Run
“C’mon, chick. Pick up the bar. Don’t worry, Jason – I got this.”
Second round, push press. 5 more reps to go. Grip the barbell, left hand, right hand, palms sweating. Hips. Pull – now.
Bar’s across my shoulders, rack position. Deep breath. 5 reps – do not put it down. Dip and drive, 40kg overhead, lock it out, rack it again.
That’s one down. Feels heavy.
“Four to go.”
Wasting energy standing there with the weight like that. Breathe in, dip, drive. Up! Come on, arms.
There’s sweat trickling down my nose. There’s a Texan flag on the ceiling of the box. Little things snapping into focus between breaths.
Three. It can’t be getting heavier: physics doesn’t work like that.
Stop thinking. Push press, now. Up. And again, up.
One more. But I’ve stopped to think – brain instead of muscles. The tension’s out of my shoulders. The bar’s not going anywhere. The sound of the bumpers hitting the floor is loud.
“Pick it up. One rep. You can do one rep.”
One. Barbell down, step over it, onto the deadlifts.
Keep moving. Keep going. Start running. Don’t worry, Jason – I got this.
Results: 22’16″, Women’s Rx’d.
